Reinvention and exploration are showcased in each series of Anita Varadaraju’s paintings. An eye for capturing unique perspectives on the ordinary keeps her rooted and aware of the beauty that surrounds her as she strives to create a legacy that reveres the varying stages of her painting lifecycle.
As an adventure seeker, the world is Anita’s muse. Travelling inspires her and drives her ability to superimpose abstract onto reality and completely deconstruct it. That is the crux of her work.
Locally, Anita’s work has been featured at The Jung Center in Houston’s Museum District. She has also curated Silver Street Studios’ first two group exhibits, where she currently houses her work. Her art has been exhibited in galleries across Texas, and some of it resides in private collections around the world.
Anita was born in Chennai, India in 1977 and later immigrated to America. She comes from a family of artists and has painted ever since she was a child. While her professional background is in business, moving to Houston ignited her desire to pursue painting as a full-time career.
